NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) – Police were seen outside of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez’s North Attleboro home Tuesday night, as police reportedly questioned the player about a homicide investigation.
A source told Sports Illustrated that a vehicle tied to Hernandez’s name was a key piece of evidence in a homicide investigation in North Attleboro. A jogger came across a body lying in an office park at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. The body has yet to be identified.
Though police told Eyewitness News that they don’t have any suspects in the investigation, the Attleboro Sun Chronicle reported that police identified a rented 2013 Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island plates in connection to the killing. According to the paper, the vehicle is registered to Enterprise and investigators are hoping to dust for fingerprints.
A source told Sports Illustrated that Hernandez’s name is in some way tied to that vehicle, but he is not believed to be a murder suspect.
North Attleboro and Massachusetts State Police are still combing through evidence at the scene the body was found on John Dietsch Boulevard.
