Pats honor Heather Abbott before game

FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) – The New England Patriots took time to honor several amputees before Thursday night’s game with the New York Jets.

Among those honored was Heather Abbott of Newport.

Abbott was one of the many people who had to have a leg amputated following the Boston Marathon bombings back in April.

She told Eyewitness News she was excited because it was her first time seeing the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

The team also honored other marathon bombing victims and military amputees.
