PROVIDENCE, R. I. (WPRI) – Hospital officials have terminated a convicted sex offender who worked within Rhode Island and Hasbro Children’s Hospitals. The Target 12 Investigators were questioning the hospital about his ongoing employment as part of an investigation set to atmosphere this Thursday on Eyewitness News.
Jose Moitoso, 56, of East Providence, was convicted of sexually assaulting a teenager in 2012.
Officials at Lifespan – the parent organization of Rhode Island and Hasbro Children’s Hospital – have refused to sit-down for an interview, at first sending a statement that “safety would not be compromised by his continued employment. ”
However , on Wednesday, just two days before Target twelve is set to release details on the hospital’s response, officials there announced they will terminated Moitoso.
