CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Police say they’re caught the man who robbed the Pawtucket Credit Union on Sockanosset Crossroad Friday morning.

After reviewing surveillance video, police identified the suspect as Mason Deangelus. Detectives started their search, and with the help from Warwick Police, soon learned he had checked in to a La Quinta Inn and Suties in Warwick. Early Saturday afternoon, detectives took Deangelus into custody after a brief struggle with officers. He was found wearing the same clothing as seen in the surveillance video, and a large amount of cash.

After being transported to Cranston Police Headquarters, Deangelus confessed to the robbery. He also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
