Man arrested after firing at car

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – Police arrested a man Saturday after he allegedly fired shots at a vehicle.

According to investigators, a victim told police early Saturday morning that 43 year-old Damaso Hernandez, Sr., fired shots at his car as he left Hernadez’s home. Officers arrived at the house at about 5 a.m. to investigate and Hernandez refused to come out of the house.

After a few minutes Hernandez came to the door, but police say he then tried to slam the door on the officers, who grabbed him and arrested him. Nobody was injured in the struggle.

Police seized a shotgun, a 9mm pistol and an AR-15 rifle, all of which were loaded, from the home. Officers also took a weapon police described as a musket, a sword, pellet gun and hunting knife.

Hernandez is charged with two counts of domestic felony assault with a wepaon, firing a weapon in a compact area, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
