PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – Rhode Island officials are getting ready to celebrate the completion of a local road project.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee and other lawmakers will join state transportation officials next month for a tour of the newly reopened Conant Street Bridge in Pawtucket.
The bridge was built in 1913. It closed in 1989 and reopened in December following millions of dollars in repairs.
A short speaking program will be held on Feb. 14 in the parking lot at Eddie’s Auto Body followed by a tour of the bridge.
