Crews rush to EP fire in snow

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Fire broke out at a multi-family home in East Providence on Monday morning, in the middle of Monday’s snow.

It happened at 150 Walnut Street, near Waterman Avenue, just before 10 a.m. Fire crews got the flames under control quickly at the three-story home. Battalion Chief David Rave told the Providence Journal nobody was reported hurt.

A police car blocked Walnut Street at Waterman Avenue while crews were at the scene. Four fire trucks also responded to the fire. Fire engine ladders had to navigate multiple utility wires strewn above the street to reach the home’s roof and attic.
