ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) – A woman was hospitalized after her vehicle was found flipped over and on fire on the side of Route 95 South, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
Police said they responded to Route 95 near exist 5 in Attleboro around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday and discovered the car, an Acura, on its side. The driver – identified only as an adult female – was found unconscious in the nearby roadway. Police believe she was ejected from her vehicle after it rolled over. She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with what police call non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they believe the woman had been involved in a minor hit-and-run accident a few minutes prior to the roll over. They said another driver had reported being clipped by a woman in an Acura. The reporting driver told police that the woman who hit him drove away.
Police believe the woman who was hospitalized hit the reporting driver, fled the scene, then lost control and rolled over approximately three minutes later.
