3 juveniles charged with breaking into school, setting fires

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – Three juveniles are accused of breaking into the Woonsocket Middle School and setting several fires.

Police were called to the school Thursday for an alarm. Once there, they spotted two juveniles running from the school and another injured near the school.

The injured juvenile told police he had injured his ankle when jumping off a fire escape.

Police searched inside the school and found several smoldering fires in the bathroom areas. A fire extinguisher had been discharged in another part of the building filling the room with fire suppressant.

Police later located the other two juveniles and all three were taken into custody. They are charged with breaking and entering, second degree arson, vandalism and conspiracy.
