(WPRI) — Wednesday was National Signing Day, meaning it was the first day high school athletes could formally commit to the universities of their choice.
Classical track stars Maddy Berkson and Bianca Donadio have signed letters of intent to attend Stanford and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively.
“Coach Palazzo, Coach Green, and Mr. Cafferty, I mean they’re all such amazing people and they put everything into their athletes and into the team,” Donadio said. “Each one of the athletes is just so talented, it’s really great that we get to unlock that talent.”
Barrington senior soccer standout Joseph Jennings has announced plans to stay in-state and play for Bryant University, while track star Abby Livingston is heading to the Ivy League to run for Dartmouth.
“I feel like Barrington prepares us so well for college and beyond, and definitely participating on all the cross country and track teams,” said Livingston. “It’s been an amazing experience because we got so many opportunities to go to away meets and to participate in high-level races. It’s just been a great high school experience.”
It was announced Wednesday that Cumberland fullback Joe Fine and Middletown running back and defensive back Connor Russ have both agreed to join the Bryant Bulldogs next season.
