PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A tow truck driver who punched a state trooper and and led police on a chase in 2012 pleaded no contest Friday during his sentencing.
31-year old Sean Sparfven was sentenced to 20 years with seven to serve for numerous charges.
Investigators believed Sparfven was stealing cars and selling them for scrap, and when two detectives confronted him he punched one officer and attempted to run another over. This led to a chase through Providence which ended with Sparfven crashing his truck into his own house.
Sparfven was charged with obtaining money under false pretenses and possession of a stolen vehicle.
