Several arrests made in teen’s murder

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Four adults and one juvenile have been taken into police custody in connection with the murder of a Providence teen.

Officers found 17-year-old George Holland suffering from a gunshot wound inside a Colfax Street home on Feb. 4. He died the following morning at Rhode Island Hospital.

The suspects (pictured below) who have been arrested in connection to Holland’s death are:

  • Ashner Alexis, 18, with no permanent address
  • Alain Bedame, 18, of Pawtucket
  • Anthony Moore, 21, of Woonsocket
  • Seydina Ndoye, 19, of Providence
  • Unnamed juvenile suspect

Police said the four adult suspects were arraigned on Monday. Each was charged with one count each of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The juvenile, 17, was charged with murder and police said he is now at training school.

Neither the prosecution nor police disclosed which of the five suspects they believed was the shooter. They also did not comment on motive.

Holland played football for Central High School, and the team has since retired number 55 in his honor.
