Route 146 reopened after tractor-trailer fire

LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) – Part of Route 146 South near Lincoln, was temporarily shut down on Friday afternoon as police and fire crews responded to a fiery tractor-trailer near Breakneck Hill Road.

Captain Gould with the Lincoln Police Dept. confirmed to Eyewitness News that safety officials had shut down the highway as police and fire crews respond. A photo sent to us by an eyewitness shows the trailer on the side of the road, enveloped in black smoke.
