PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A homeless man who turned himself in to police back in December in connection with a decades-old murder investigation was officially indicted Friday afternoon.
Daniel Serrano, 65, with no known address, confessed to the 1990 murder of Michael Holliday on Dec. 27. Holliday, 32, was found dead in a vacant apartment on Somerset Street back in 1990. Police investigated his death, but they never charged anyone with the killing.
Serrano has been detained since his confession, and he was indicted by a grand jury on Friday.
Serrano is scheduled to be arraigned March 19.
