NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – Firefighters rushed to an icy pond in North Kingstown Sunday afternoon after three children fell through the ice while playing.

It happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Potowomut Pond, off Kingswood Road. Firefighters said three kids were out on the ice when two of them fell through; the third pulled them out and they made it back to shore on their own.

A neighbor saw what happened and assisted them until firefighters arrived and checked them out. All are expected to be fine.
