E-ZPass mistake sends notices to 500 residents

Sakonnet River Bridge tolls

JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is working to correct an E-ZPass mix up that affected almost 500 residents.

The agency confirmed to Eyewitness News that it accidentally sent out notices to hundreds  of customers, reminding them that the credit cards on their accounts were about to expire.

The residents who received notices have credit cards on file that actually expire in March of 2015. The agency collects tolls on both the Pell and Sakonnet River Bridges.

New notices are being sent to affected customers, to inform them of the error.
