PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The Providence College men’s basketball team advanced to the Big East tournament final Friday night beating Seton Hall University 80-74.
This is the team’s first time playing in the Big East final since 1994.
The Friars were led by Junior LaDontae Henton who scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
PC will play Creighton for the Big East title Saturday night. The Bluejays secured a spot in the final round following a 86-78 victory over Xavier.
Providence split its two regular season match-ups with Creighton. However, the Friars fell to the Bluejays by double digits just last week.
With a win over Creighton in the Big East final, Providence can guarantee itself a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in ten years.
