BOSTON (WPRI) – A Bridgewater man was sentenced March 11 in federal court for possession of child pornography.

Police say 38 year-old Kevin J. Balzarini was sentenced to 36 months in prison after he pleaded guilty last December.

An undercover officer found that Balzarini was sharing child pornography files on a peer-to-peer network and then asked for and recieved an image of child pornography. Police then got a search warrant for Balzarini’s home, where investigators found 2,000 images and videos of child pornography.

Balzarini told police that he had been looking at child pornography for several years; police also found a container of girls’ underwear in his home that he admitted he’d taken from several homes while making deliveries for his job at a Rent-A-Center.

Bridgewater Police, the Massachusetts State Police and the FBI were all involved in the investigation.
