Coventry woman indicted in deadly crash

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A Coventry woman has been indicted in connection to a deadly car crash.

A grand jury is charging Amanda Lyons with one count of DUI death resulting, one count of driving to endanger death resulting, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

On November 23, Lyons’ passenger John Balzano was ejected from the car after she struck a utility pole on Route 1 in South Kingstown.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the crash.

Officials believe she was also in possession of Morphine, Alpazom, and Buprenophine at the time of the accident.

She is scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County Superior Court on April 14.
