Inmate from jailhouse fight with Hernandez freed

Aaron Hernandez is seen here following his 2013 arrest in connection with the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Andrew Booker, the inmate involved in a fight with former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez last month, has been released from the Bristol County House of Correction in Dartmouth.

Booker was freed Saturday after posting $7,500 bail. He was being held on drug and gun charges.

The Bristol County Sheriff has filed a criminal complaint against Hernandez in connection with the altercation, seeking to charge Hernandez with simple assault and battery.

Meanwhile, Hernandez has been held on murder and weapons charges in the death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd since last summer. He’s pleaded not guilty to those charges.
