Woman forced into car outside store, assaulted

Providence's 68th academy is currently in it's second month.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Police are investigating after a 23-year-old Providence woman was allegedly assaulted and forced into a car by three suspects.

According to police, the victim entered the CVS on Hope Street around 10 p.m. Saturday night to drop off a prescription.  She told police as she walked out of the store and headed towards her car, she was stopped by three women who forced her into a white Mercedes-Benz.

The victim told police she was assaulted while inside the car, and then sexually assaulted by a male who was also inside. She said she tried to open the door while the car was moving, when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and asked “where are you going?”

The police report stated the victim was dropped off on Poe Street before the car took off. The car came back around the block and dropped the young woman’s cell phone to her before fleeing again.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where she was treated.
