Seekonk bank robbed, police seek suspect

SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) – Police are searching for a suspect who they say robbed a Seekonk bank minutes after it opened on Thursday morning.

Police responded to the Webster Bank branch on Newman Avenue after receiving reports of an unarmed robbery. Bank employees reported the suspect passed a note to the teller and then took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

webster robbery suspectThe suspect is described as a white man between ages 20 and 30, about 5’11’’ tall with a medium build, dark hair, and an unshaven face. He was wearing a dark knit hat under a gray hooded sweatshirt and medium-colored pants. He was also wearing gold-rimmed sunglasses.

Police said following the robbery, the suspect entered a white pick-up truck operated by a second male suspect. The truck left the area in an unknown direction, possibly toward Pawtucket or Attleboro.
