PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – One of the top officials at the R.I. Department of Business Regulation has been suspended without explanation, WPRI.com has learned.
Louis A. DeQuattro Jr., the department’s executive counsel and deputy director for the Division of Regulatory Standards, Compliance and Enforcement, has been placed on administrative leave, according to Faye Zuckerman a spokeswoman for Gov. Lincoln Chafee.
Zuckerman couldn’t provide details about what prompted the action but said officials are examining DeQuattro’s computer. She described that as “standard practice.”
Payroll records show DeQuattro earned $134,000 during the 2012-13 fiscal year. Zuckerman said the suspension is with pay.
