PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – Residents were evacuated from an senior housing complex in Pawtucket for several hours after an apartment fire Saturday morning.

Pawtucket fire officials say they received the alarm at about 6:15 a.m. from Coats Manor at 457 Lonsdale Avenue, and crews found a fire in a fourth-floor apartment when they arrived.

The fire was contained to that one apartment, and both occupants got out safely. Other residents on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors were evacuated for several hours because of the resulting smoke, but have since been allowed back into the complex.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to get everything under control; nobody was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
