JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) –Almost two decades after a Richmond man was sentenced for killing a 68-year-old woman while driving under the influence, he was arrested again on DUI charges.
Police arrested Lawrence Brew, 54, of Richmond for driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit a chemical test last Tuesday. According to officials, an officer stopped Lawrence’s car on Route 138 for following too closely and leaving the travel lane.
Brew was taken into custody and arraigned on charges Wednesday.
Police said Brew has been arrested three times for similar charges, making this his fourth related arrest.
He was sentenced to ten years in prison for the 1996 crash, while five were suspended.
