PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The suspect in an armed robbery in Cranston has turned himself in to Providence Police.
19-year-old Montrell Hopper is accused of holding up the Ocean State Market on Dyer Avenue on March 25.
Investigators say Hopper walked in around 2:30 in the afternoon with a gun and stole cash and cigarettes.
He’s also accused of unsuccessfully trying to rob a customer in the store.
Hopper surrendered to police April 19. He’s facing two counts of 1st degree robbery, two counts of use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence and license required to carry a pistol in Cranston.
He’s also wanted by the Providence Police Department on 1st degree robbery charges.
