Look no further for a family fun event to attend during April vacation.
This weekend, the convention center will host the New England Family Fun Festival. It’s an all-inclusive event that will feature music, games, education, activities, and a great family fun atmosphere.
The New England Family Fun Festival will be held in Providence this Saturday from 11am-8pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm.
The festival will feature live performances by dancers, magicians, story tellers, singers and bands, dance performances, karate & gymnastics exhibits, clowns, face painting, bouncy houses, contests and games for prizes, dunk tanks and more.
Local businesses and organizations will also be attending the event. RISD will offer art workshops, and the Toe Jam Puppet Band will be one of the hourly performances.
Rhode Island resident Lanre Ajakaiye founded the program to fill the void during April vacation.
“I’m a husband, I have two boys, and normally I’m always looking for things to do,” Lanre said on The Rhode Show Wednesday morning, “So this year, I said ‘You know what? I’m going to do something about that. And I’m going to do an event that I think will resonate with most parents.’”
Lanre is also the owner of Rhody365.com, launched in the same spirit as the Family Fun Festival. Lanre explained the site was established because, “It was kind of hard to find all the events that are going on in Rhode Island for families and parents in one place every day.” On this website, local parents can easily find out what’s going on in one accessible way.
Tickets are $7 for kids and $12 for adults. More information about the event, who is slated to appear, and what activities are scheduled can be found on the New England Family Fun Festival’s website.
