Each year, a local shelter holds a high-energy event that helps thousands of struggling residents throughout the state.
Get Gored for Good is a fundraiser and festival to benefit Amos House. This year’s event will take place on April 27 in the heart of downcity, Providence.
“It’s kind of our take on the running of the bulls, except instead of the participants being chanced by two ton steer, we have the ladies of the Providence Roller Derby,” said coordinator of special events for Amos House, Annie Collela.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration is $35, while children under 14 are $20.
Amos House operates the state’s largest soup kitchen, and also serves over 15,000 Rhode Islanders each year through their social services office.
