One of two armed robbery suspects pleads not guilty

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — One of the suspects accused of robbing the owner of a Providence cell phone store pleaded not guilty to the crime Wednesday.

Brandon Alves was ordered held without bail until his next hearing in two weeks.

He, along with Dwayne Silva, is facing one count each of first-degree robbery and conspiracy after police said the owner of Mobile City on Atwells Avenue was robbed at gunpoint back in February.

Silva’s arraignment was rescheduled to next week because he didn’t have a lawyer.
