Girls on the Run, a non-profit youth development organization, has teamed up with LEGO this year to help girls everywhere be joyful, healthy, and confident. This program is needed now more than ever.
Elizabeth Kunz, the President and CEO of Girls on the Run International, joined The Rhode Show to discuss how this organization is helping inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. She discusses what they are doing to promote self-confidence, the different activities that aid in relationship building between peers, and highlights the largely anticipated celebratory 5k run. She will also provide insight as to where you can go in your area to find a Girls on the Run chapter or start one in your community.
Girls on the Run is designed to help every girl celebrate who she is and realize her limitless potential to pursue her dreams. The program teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games and culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event.
Over the course of the program, girls will develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, and create positive relationships.
