PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — An undercover Rhode Island State Police investigation led to the arrest of a child pornography suspect in Providence Thursday.

Members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force took Matthew Viano, 30, of 7 Governor Street apt. R7, into custody for the alleged possession and transfer of child pornography, according to State Police Col. Steven O’Donnell.

Col. O’Donnell said an investigation into the sharing of child pornography images online led the task force to a home in Johnston.
