Two people hurt evading falling crane

BOSTON (WPRI) — Two people were injured after a crane collapsed in Boston Friday morning.

The crane operator and a female pedestrian were hurt diving out of the way as the crane fell across Commercial Street in the city’s North End.

More than 200 gallons of fuel had to be cleaned up from the street, and part of the crane crushed a pickup truck and smashed through a fence, landing on a baseball field.

Officials said the crane will likely have to be cut apart in order to remove it.
