NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) – Pedestrian safety in one Rhode Island community is going under the microscope.
The summer season is nearly upon us and one group wants to know how safe people feel when they’re visiting Newport.
Newport’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission is asking people to take part in a survey that asks them how safe they feel when using crosswalks.
- Survey: Engage Newport
The survey names 25 locations throughout the city. It will run through the end of May.
The commission will use data from the survey to identify the crosswalks where pedestrians feel the most unsafe and the areas where they feel the safest.
