BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island State Police have arrested a New Hampshire man after a shooting and a stabbing that happened at Colt State Park in Bristol.
Police responded to the park at around 4:45 p.m. Sunday for reports of an argument between “two males who were familiar with each other and attending a Memorial Day cookout.” Those two men were identified as Jordan Lyttle, 23, of Fall River, and Lang Bounama Lek, 24, of Manchester, NH.
After the altercation, Lek fled the scene. About an hour later, he was spotted as a passenger in a car on the Sakonnet River Bridge. After searching that car, officers found a handgun on the car floor. The driver was questioned and released.
Lyttle was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with gunshot wounds and Lek was taken to St. Ann’s Hospital in Fall River with stab wounds, and later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital. Both men are still in the hospital.
Police say the victims were gang members and are still investigating the incident.
