PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Former House Speaker Gordon Fox has lowered the price of the house he’s trying to sell as he deals with a federal probe that prompted his resignation from the speaker’s chair.
Fox dropped the price of his home in an upscale neighborhood on the East Side of Providence to $595,000, down $20,000 from the $615,000 he had first sought when he listed it a little over a month ago.
Fox’s real estate agent did not immediately return phone messages seeking comment.
Federal authorities have refused to comment about why they raided Fox’s home and Statehouse office, and Fox and his lawyer also won’t discuss it.
