The Hope Street Spring Block Party is coming up and this year it’s bigger than ever. From music and family fun to fashion, the Hope Street community is getting together for a day of fun.
Organizer Jan Faust Dane joined The Rhode Show to talk more about what people can expect at the party.
About The Hope Street Spring Block Party:
The celebration takes place Saturday, May 31 from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and combines two stages of music, lively activities, food trucks, sidewalk sales, restaurant specials and the popular “Beers for Ballet” Beer Garden, featuring seven local breweries and benefiting Festival Ballet. New this year to the Spring Block Party is a fashion show with local models strolling a catwalk sporting a variety of wares and styles from the streets’ businesses.
The street will be closed to traffic and bustling with festivities and music at both the 5th Street and Rochambeau ends. Activities in the interior streets will include hayrides, a pop-up playground, face painting, street chalk art, the Big Nazo puppets and the joyful Extraordinary Rendition marching band.
The event kicks off at noon and ends at 6pm. The rain date, if necessary, is scheduled for June 7.
