Fall River overnight detours for Water St. paving

Route 79 construction project in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — MassDOT says it is closing and detouring several streets overnight in the next few days in order to pave Water Street.

From 7 p.m. Sunday night to 6 a.m. Monday, and 7 p.m. Monday night to 6 a.m. Tuesday, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said in a Friday news release it’s putting detours in place as follows:

Davol Street traffic destined for points south should take the u-turn to reach President Avenue, Robeson Street and Bedford Street to Milliken Boulevard, Pocasset Street and Anawan Street

Central Street traffic heading to Water Street should use Milliken Boulevard, Pocasset Street and Anawan Street. Central Street traffic may continue to turn right at the Davol Street intersection.

Water Street traffic heading to Central Street and Davol Street should use Anawan Street, Pocasset Street and Milliken Boulevard

The paving of Water Street is part of the widespread Rt. 79 and Braga Bridge improvements project areas.
