School officials to meet with parents about guidance counselor arrest

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — A community outreach meeting is scheduled for later this week to help families of students who were shocked by allegations that a North Attleboro Middle School guidance counselor has sex with a student.

Brian McBride, 31, is facing allegations he had sex with a female student and was ordered held on $30,000 bail last week.

In court last Tuesday, prosecutors said the parents of a teen girl told police about text messages that were sent between their daughter and McBride.

Some of the messages allegedly stated that the two “needed to find alone time” and others said the student was “cute and sexy.” Prosecutors say McBride also sent a lewd video to that student.

McBride and his wife have a 16-month-old child together, and he told officials they’ve been having marital problems.

According to the Attleboro Sun Chronicle, school administrators are meeting with parents about the incident this Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Middle School.
