BURRILLVILLE R.I. (WPRI) – A young Burrilleville boy whose fight against Leukemia caught national media attention, is undergoing a bone marrow transplant on Monday.
Tyler Seddon’s mother Rachel Seddon-Dunn said the procedure was scheduled to happen at a Boston Hospital on Monday morning.
The donor is a baby from the hospital’s umbilical cord blood unit.
Tyler is expected to stay in Boston until the middle of July for post-operative recovery.

The 7-year-old was honored by first responders from around the country on his birthday in March after his mom put out a plea on social media asking for birthday messages. He was also named honorary chief of the Burrillville Police Department.
At the time, Tyler’s family had been looking for matching bone marrow donors.
This is second battle with leukemia.
