PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A local winery is helping couples tie the knot with their signature beverages. Newport Vineyards has been harvesting grapes for 19 years and offers dozens of varieties for brides- and grooms-to-be. Whether it’s hosting out-of-town guests, rehearsal dinner, or reception, there is a wine for every palette.
With over 50 acres of land, Newport Vineyards is the largest grower of wine grapes in New England. The grapes at Newport Vineyards create reds and whites that can be sampled at their newly renovated facility. The expansion includes a restaurant and event area. Guests can tour the vineyard daily at 1 and 3 and tastings can be done at any time.
Owner, John Nunes, brought a few wines in to The Rhode Show. In addition, Nunes brought in Rhodey Coyote, a hard cider made from hand-picked local apples.
- In The Buff Chardonnay – An un-oaked chardonnay
- Great White – According to Nunes’, his most popular wine – a blend of Riesling and Vidal
