GLOCESTER, R.I. (WPRI) – A Glocester man who is employed as a school bus monitor was arrested Friday for possession of child pornography.
Joseph Such Jr., 30, was taken into custody by Rhode Island State Police after officers searched his Putnam Pike home. During the search, officers seized a laptop and cell phone for further analysis.
Such is facing charges of possession and transfer of child pornography and was arraigned on Friday afternoon.
State police said they received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that led to Such’s arrest. They said their investigation indicated child pornography was being emailed from an account linked to Such.
The suspect works as a school bus monitor for Hopkins Transportation located in North Scituate. He worked on bus route #53, which transports elementary school students in western Glocester.
The investigation is ongoing, but police said there is no evidence that Such had any inappropriate contact with children.
If found guilty on both charges, Such could face up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
