NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — The town of North Kingstown is seeking the green light from taxpayers to launch two multimillion-dollar sewer expansion projects.
Two referendums were being voted on Tuesday: One seeking to authorize $4,900,000 in bonds for new sewers in the commercial area of Wickford, and another for $6,600,000 in bonds for sewer expansion along Post Road North.
The cost for each project would be fully paid over twenty years by owners of properties being connected to the system. No other property owners or taxpayers would be taxed for the new sewers.
If the referendums are approved, construction would likely take place in 2016 and 2017.
