RIDLT offering help to dislocated Blue Grotto workers

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training is offering rapid response services to workers affected by the closing of the Blue Grotto Restaurant.

According to The Providence Journal, the iconic Italian eatery on Providence’s Federal Hill shut it doors Thursday, 34 years after it first opened.

Dislocated workers are encouraged to attend an orientation session on Monday, June 23, at 1:30 p.m. at the netWORKri One-Stop Career Center at 1 Reservoir Avenue in Providence.

Teams from the DLT’s Workforce Development and Unemployment Insurance Divisions will be there to help.

It will be held in the Renaissance Room. Career Center staff will meet Blue Grotto workers in the office’s reception area and accompany them to the meeting room.
