SUV crashes into Cranston nursing home

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Authorities were called to a Cranston nursing home Monday night after a vehicle crashed into the front entrance.

Cranston Police tell Eyewitness News the 40-year-old female driver was not injured, but was transported to the hospital as a precaution. She crashed into the Cedar Crest Nursing Home on Scituate Avenue around 6:30 p.m., where she is an employee.

The driver accidentally hit the accelerator, causing her SUV to end up near the building’s entrance, but police tell us the vehicle didn’t go into the building and only caused minor structural damage.
