PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Former Providence College basketball star Bryce Cotton did not hear his name called during last week’s NBA draft – but now he and the defending world champion San Antonio Spurs have agreed to a partially guaranteed two-year deal.
Cotton will play Summer League ball and if he makes San Antonio’s roster this year, the second year is guaranteed.
Cotton turned down offers to play overseas and instead decided to test the free agency waters.
With the Spurs reputation for using players in the best way possible, this could be a great fit for Cotton.
The former Friar will compete for a spot as a backup guard.
