PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A warrant has been issued for a Providence teenager accused of killing a man in a drive-by shooting in early May, according to the office of the Attorney General.
A grand jury handed out an indictment charging Chaquiro Blandino, 19, of Stamford Avenue, with the murder of 22-year-old Francis Rodriguez.
According to police, Rodriguez was gunned down while driving on Elmwood Avenue on May 2.
The AG’s office said Blandino is facing one count of murder, two counts of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of discharging as firearm from a motor vehicle, one count of possession of a firearm without a license, and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Rodriguez was the city’s fifth homicide of the year.
