Block Island Ferry cancels evening trips

BLOCK ISLAND, R.I. (WPRI) – Block Island Ferry officials were forced to cancel Friday evening’s runs due to rough waters from Hurricane Arthur.

The last ferry departing from Point Judith is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, and the final traditional ferry departing from Block Island is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Updated Scheduled for Independence Day

Leaving Point Judith:

  • 4 p.m. traditional ferry
  • 4:40 p.m. high-speed ferry
  • 5 p.m. traditional ferry – last ferry departing from Point Judith

Leaving Block Island:

  • 3 p.m. traditional ferry
  • 3:30 p.m. high-speed ferry
  • 4 p.m. traditional ferry
  • 5:30 p.m. traditional ferry
  • 5:45 p.m. high-speed ferry – last ferry departing from Block Island

The following ferry trips have been canceled for Independence Day

Leaving Point Judith:

  • 6 p.m. traditional ferry
  • 6:45 p.m. high-speed ferry
  • 8 p.m. traditional ferry

Leaving Block Island:

  • 7 p.m. traditional ferry
  • 7:35 p.m. high-speed ferry
  • 8 p.m. traditional ferry

Cape Wind has also canceled all flights between T.F. Green in Warwick and Block Island.
