CHATHAM, Mass. (WPRI) – As coastal Massachusetts regions are under a Tropical Storm Warning, Eyewitness News This Morning caught up with meteorologist Ashley Baylor with our Springfield-based sister station WWLP for a live look at the weather in Chatham.
Ashley said the Cape Cod region is expecting a “quick impact” from Hurricane Arthur Friday afternoon, but she said the threat of storms has not scared away vacationers or beach-goers. Although swimming is off-limits at Chatham beaches for the time being, Ashley said plenty of families were still enjoying the calm morning on the beach.

She said the area is expecting 2-4 inches of rain during periods of potential downpours, but – after the storm passes through Nantucket – she said the rest of the weekend on Cape Cod should be beautiful.
