PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — They may been a day or two late, but Saturday night’s array of firework shows made up for the lousy Fourth of July weather.
The majority of cities and towns moved their shows from either Thursday or Friday to Saturday due to Hurricane Arthur.
At India Point Park, hundreds gathered not only to see the fireworks, but also the Rhode Island Philharmonic.
“We’ve been here before,” said Dan Crenca of Pawtucket. “It was fabulous in the past and we’re glad they moved it and spared us from the rain.”
Fortunately, the weather couldn’t have been better Saturday night, leaving no trace of Arthur in the forecast. All around, attendees were satisfied, even if the Fourth was celebrated on the fifth.
