PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The two Republicans jostling for the party’s nomination for Rhode Island governor are preparing to meet for a campaign round table.

Cranston Mayor Allan Fung and businessman and Moderate Party founder Ken Block will meet Tuesday evening in a special hour-long edition of Rhode Island Public Radio’s “Political Roundtable.”

The two Republicans sparred last month during a televised debate. Fung portrayed himself as the candidate with experience, while Block highlighted his status as an outsider.

The state GOP has endorsed Fung in the Sept. 9 primary.

The three leading Democrats in the race are state Treasurer Gina Raimondo, Providence Mayor Angel Taveras and Clay Pell, grandson of the late U.S. Sen. Claiborne Pell.
